The municipality of Ostermundigen has made the common land available for use in the framework of the “Parzelle 1538” project, which has been approved until the end of August 2023. The council is willing to consider an extension of this use.
The Bern University of the Arts has initiated this project and will assist with its realization. Art students from the HKB will be directly involved in the process, working closely with the Ostermundigen community. Together, they will create a foundation where art and everyday life can intersect, and the use of the land by the community can be determined.
The project is experimental in nature, as the Ostermundigen community and art students from the HKB will explore the implications of shared land use, as well as the legal framework for communal land ownership.
Lecturers from the HKB and the Y-Institute, Marianne Flotron and Saša Karalić, as well as students from the HKB, including Johanna Bossart, Anne-Sophie Cordeiro, Mathilde Rusca, Denis Savi, and Cosima Specht, will be involved.
